Job Opening: Senior Purchase Manager – Vendor Development (Furniture Manufacturing)

Location: Old Mumbai Pune Highway near Khalapur, A/p Vinegaon, Maharashtra

Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Additional qualification in Supply Chain Management or Materials Management will be an added advantage.

Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in Purchase, Procurement, Sourcing, and Vendor Development.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the furniture manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Experience in sourcing materials for luxury furniture manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing.
- Identify, evaluate, develop, and manage domestic and international vendors.
- Source raw materials such as wood, plywood, MDF, veneers, leather, fabric, foam, metal components, hardware, adhesives, packaging materials, and accessories.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and long-term supply agreements.
- Conduct vendor audits and supplier performance evaluations based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
- Build strategic relationships with suppliers to improve quality, reduce costs, and ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Stores, Quality, and Finance departments to meet procurement requirements.




- Ensure timely procurement to avoid production delays.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize procurement planning.
- Lead cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
- Handle import procurement and coordinate with logistics and customs agencies where required.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and statutory requirements.
- Prepare MIS reports, purchase analysis, vendor performance reports, and monthly procurement reports.
- Resolve supplier quality and delivery issues through corrective actions.

Required Skills
- Solid negotiation and commercial skills.
- Excellent vendor development and supplier management capabilities.
- Knowledge of furniture manufacturing materials and production processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and procurement software.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple suppliers simultaneously.
