Role Description The Assistant Manager Purchase is a full-time, on-site role based in Tiruvallur. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing activities, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotations, negotiating prices and terms, and issuing purchase orders in line with company policies.

Purchase monitors inventory levels, coordinates with stores and production teams, and ensures timely availability of materials and equipment. The role includes maintaining vendor relationships, evaluating supplier performance, resolving delivery or quality issues, and ensuring adherence to budgets and cost-control measures.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and inventory control in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to analyze quotations, negotiate prices and contract terms,



and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with ERP or purchasing software for order processing, documentation, and reporting.
- Solid understanding of supply chain principles, logistics coordination, and basic commercial terms (Incoterms, payment terms, etc.).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Solid attention to detail, numerical aptitude, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant experience in mining, metals, or heavy industry is an advantage.
- Commitment to ethical procurement practices, compliance with company policies, and continuous improvement of purchasing processes.
