Industry - Engineering · HVAC · Industrial Systems
We make large industrial fans.
Long before anybody buys one, a consultant sits with a drawing and writes a few lines into a specification. Those lines quietly decide which product gets bought eighteen months later, by somebody who will never meet us.
Your job is to be in the room when those lines are written.
You will not close anything this month. That isn’t a warning. That’s the job. This is the longest, most technical and most patient of the roles we’re hiring for, and we’re hiring very few of them.
What the work actually is
- Map the consultants, architects, PMCs and design firms shaping industrial and warehousing projects in your region.
- Build a relationship that’s credible rather than merely cordial. Consultants have plenty of friends. They have very few people they trust on airflow.
- Run technical sessions. Coverage, airflow, why eight of the right fans beat fourteen of the wrong ones.
- Produce calculations that survive an engineer reading them properly.
- Get language into tender specifications that is accurate first and ours second. The first is what makes the second possible.
- Track a project from concept through design, tender and award, then hand it over cleanly to whoever bids it.
- Watch what competitors are getting specified, and work out why. “They’re cheaper” is usually the lazy answer.
You’ll do well here if
- You enjoy the technical side enough that you’d read about it anyway.
- A room of engineers questioning you is the good part of your week.
- You measure a positive month in specifications influenced, not orders closed.
- You write well. Here, a clear document travels further than a good meeting.
- You’re patient enough to work on something that pays next year
This probably isn’t for you if
- You need a closing number each month to feel you’ve done your job.
- You’d rather hand somebody a brochure than a calculation.
- Detail bores you.
- You dislike being the least experienced person in the room. Occasionally,
you will be.
What you’ll need
- Common sense. (Rare, we know.)
- 4–8 years in specification, technical advisory, applications engineering or consultant facing work in HVAC,
- Ventilation, building services, fire or lighting.
- Consultants and architects in your city who already take your calls.
- Excellent written English. In this role, documents travel further than meetings.
- An engineering background helps, though how you think matters more to us than what you studied.
What you’ll gain
- Ownership of the consultant relationship for an entire region.
- Deep technical exposure to air movement, ventilation and building services design.
- Direct visibility with leadership, and a real say in how the product is positioned.
- The chance to build something that pays the company back for years, not quarters.
What we pay We pay at or above market on the fixed component, and we build the incentive on top of it rather than out of it. It’s built around specifications influenced and projects converted rather than immediate closures. Rewarding the wrong thing in this role would quietly ruin it.
There’s also an increment every year. We treat that as our obligation rather than your achievement — if you’re not worth more to us after twelve months than you were on the day you joined, that’s a failure of our training, not your effort.
Who we are
- We design and build industrial air movement systems used in factories, warehouses, automotive plants and large commercial buildings across India.
- Our products are already accepted in the market. We aren’t starting from zero. We’re scaling something that already works, and we need stronger people to do it faster.
- We’re a 50-year-old engineering and manufacturing company,
and for the next 12 to 24 months this will feel less like a 50-year-old company and more like a system being rebuilt in real time. Fast. Occasionally chaotic. High ownership throughout.
How we work
- You’ll be based in your territory. There’s no daily commute, because there’s little sense in driving to an office in order to drive back out to a customer. That isn’t a perk. It’s arithmetic.
- Behind you: quotations, technical support, production, service.
- In front of you: your own week, to run as you see fit.
- We’ve tried to describe this work accurately rather than attractively. If it reads like hard work, that’s because we wrote it honestly
How to apply
- Read the next four paragraphs properly before you write to us. They’ll save us both some time.
- If you’re already doing this exact work with the same audience — getting another product written into specifications by consultants and architects in your region — say so plainly. That’s the shortest route through our process, and you’ll hear from us quickly.
- If you’re doing something close to it in a different industry, we’re still interested. Products can be taught. Territories can be learned. Working habits are much harder to install.
- And if you’re somewhere adjacent but confident you’d be good at this, tell us why you’re confident.
- That last one is the real question, so here it is plainly. A consultant who specifies your current product won’t automatically specify ours. Getting written into a document is a different exercise from getting an order, and far fewer people have genuinely done it. So: have you? And if you have — what actually got you into that specification? We’d rather read two honest paragraphs on one project than a list of firms you’ve visited.
- Then send your CV to
[email protected], subject line “I know how a spec gets written.” Add a short note in your own words: why this role, and why you
