Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced BizTalk Migration Lead to lead large-scale integration modernization initiatives involving migration of Microsoft BizTalk Server landscapes to modern integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services, Boomi, or other cloud-native integration platforms.

The role requires ownership of the end-to-end migration lifecycle including assessment, architecture, migration planning, dependency analysis, wave-based execution, cutover management, and BizTalk decommissioning. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, application owners, and delivery teams to ensure a low-risk, business-aligned migration journey

Key Responsibilities

Migration Strategy & Leadership

- Lead enterprise-wide BizTalk modernization and migration programs.
- Define migration strategy, roadmap, migration waves, and execution approach.
- Conduct stakeholder workshops and migration discovery sessions.
- Establish migration governance, risk management, and reporting mechanisms.
- Manage offshore, onshore, and vendor teams throughout the program lifecycle.

BizTalk Assessment & Discovery

- Assess BizTalk environments, applications, interfaces, orchestrations, maps, pipelines, custom components, and adapters.
- Analyze interface dependencies and application integrations.
- Perform reverse engineering of existing BizTalk solutions where documentation is unavailable.
- Classify integrations based on complexity, business criticality, and migration readiness.
- Prepare detailed inventory and migration assessment reports.

Solution Architecture & Modernization

- Define target-state integration architecture.
- Drive API-led, event-driven, and cloud integration modernization approaches.




- Identify reusable integration patterns and modernization opportunities.
- Collaborate with architecture teams to define security, monitoring, and operational standards.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise integration and cloud strategies.

Migration Planning & Execution

- Develop detailed migration plans and phased migration waves.
- Define coexistence strategies between BizTalk and target integration platforms.
- Lead migration execution, SIT, UAT, performance testing, and production deployment.
- Manage release planning, cutover activities, and hypercare support.
- Ensure business continuity throughout migration phases.

Risk & Dependency Management

- Identify critical integration dependencies and sequencing requirements.
- Manage migration-related risks, issues, assumptions, and mitigation plans.
- Ensure alignment between business schedules and migration waves.
- Drive proactive issue resolution and stakeholder communication.

DevOps & Quality Governance

- Establish migration quality standards and governance controls.
- Implement CI/CD and automated deployment best practices.
- Drive automated testing, regression validation, and environment readiness.
- Review migration deliverables for completeness and quality.

Knowledge Transfer & Decommissioning

- Lead operational readiness planning.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for operations and support teams.
- Define BizTalk decommissioning strategy and execution plan.
- Ensure documentation, runbooks, and support transition activities are completed.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience

- 10–15+ years of IT and Enterprise Integration experience.
- 5+ years of Microsoft BizTalk Server experience.
- 3+ years leading modernization or migration programs.
- Experience managing large-scale integration transformations involving 100+ interfaces.




- Proven experience working with global stakeholders and multi-vendor delivery teams.
