ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our Web Engineering team in Chennai. You will work across the full stack building robust backend services with Spring Boot and Node.js, and crafting responsive,

high-performance frontends with React and TypeScript. This is a hands-on engineering role where your work will directly impact the experience of millions of users who rely on BankBazaar every day.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality web applications across the full stack.
- Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Spring Boot and Node.js.
- Develop responsive and intuitive user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
- Implement Server-Side Rendering (SSR) to improve application performance, SEO, and user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams Product, Design, and Backend to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following industry best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards and development processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while ensuring application reliability and performance.
- Work closely with senior engineers to learn and adopt scalable system design principles.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR





Must Have

- 4–5 years of hands-on experience in Full Stack Development.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for backend application development.
- Hands-on experience with React and TypeScript for building modern frontends.
- Good understanding of Node.js and server-side JavaScript development.
- Experience implementing Server-Side Rendering (SSR) using frameworks such as Next.js.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, client-server architecture, and asynchronous data flows.
- Familiarity with Git and up-to-date collaborative software development workflows.
- Strong fundamentals in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, data structures, and object-oriented design.
- Experience working with relational databases and writing efficient SQL queries.

Good to Have

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Experience working with microservices-based architectures.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks for frontend (Jest, React Testing Library) and backend (JUnit).
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker.
- Exposure to fintech or consumer internet products with high-traffic web applications.
