Job Requirements Role/Job Title: Senior Wintel Engineer Function/ Department: Information Technology Location: Navi Mumbai – Airoli Processing Centre (Gigaplex Office) Job Summary: Unix Administrator – Information Technology Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, maintain and support Linux (RHEL) operating systems and exposure to any 2 of the UNIX flavours (RedHat & AIX).
- Resolve major incidents and technical escalations within agreed SLAs and quality.
- Perform root cause analysis for problems and major incidents, provide workarounds to ensure business continuity and prepare RCA reports.
- Prepare Implementation plan, rollback plan and test plan, risk and impact analysis for critical or complex changes. Review the change plan and documentation prepared by level 2 engineers or peers.
- Participate in CAB meetings as needed and assist change manager in techno-operations decision process
- Oversee installations of hardware and software, maintain appropriate service levels, performance tuning and firmware upgrades across multiple hardware platforms.
- Perform advance tasks such as capacity planning, performance monitoring,
provide recommendations for improvement and implement or oversee implementation of the recommendations.
- Perform system software upgrades including planning / scheduling, testing, coordination, and maintaining integrity of operating system environment.
- Harden operating system parameters in line with security policy, standards or best practices.
- Respond to outages both during normal business hours and after-hours on a need basis (on-call support).
- Documentation, knowledge sharing and training of junior members.
- Coordinating and interfacing with outside vendors, application teams, other department team members, and OEMs to resolve issues.
- Analyse data, oversee and contribute to service improvements.
- Oversee tasks executed by junior members and stand in for them if needed.
- Positive understanding of operational framework like ITIL/ITSM, operations process Education Qualification: Graduation: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) Post-Graduation: Master of Science (M.Sc) /Master of Technology (M.Tech) / Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Experience:
- 10 – 18 years.
