Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled API Test Engineer with 68 years of experience in manual and automation testing of REST and SOAP APIs. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in API testing tools, automation frameworks, SQL, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD integration. The candidate will work closely with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and execute API test cases for REST and SOAP services.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end API testing.
- Create and maintain API automation frameworks using Java, Rest Assured, or similar technologies.
- Validate request/response payloads, headers, authentication, and status codes.
- Test APIs using Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, and SoapUI.
- Perform data validation using SQL queries on relational databases.
- Execute API automation suites as part of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
- Analyze API logs and troubleshoot defects with development teams.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Report defects using Jira or similar defect tracking tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve software quality.
- Review API specifications and provide feedback on testability.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and review automation code.
