About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer who can understand complex problems, design practical solutions, and take complete ownership of their implementation.

Coding is increasingly being accelerated by AI. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is not just a good programmer, but a strong problem-solver who can use tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar AI coding tools effectively.

The engineer must also be capable of reviewing, testing, and improving AI-generated code to ensure that the final solution is secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable.

What You Will Do

Understand product and user problems before starting development.

Design practical, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions.

Develop and maintain applications using PHP, MySQL, CodeIgniter, and Laravel.

Build and improve APIs, database structures, integrations, and back-end workflows.

Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar tools to develop and debug solutions faster.

Review and verify AI-generated code before using it in production.

Take ownership of features from requirement understanding to deployment.

Debug production issues and identify their root causes.

Improve application performance, security, reliability, and code quality.

Review code written by other engineers.

Participate in technical and architectural discussions.





Mentor junior engineers and help improve their problem-solving abilities.

Work closely with product, design, customer success, and engineering teams.

Mandatory Requirements

5+ years of hands-on software development experience.

Strong practical experience with PHP.

Strong experience working with MySQL, including database design, indexing, query optimisation, and transactions.

Hands-on experience with the CodeIgniter framework.

Hands-on experience with the Laravel framework.

Experience developing and integrating REST APIs.

Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.

Experience working with Git, code reviews, deployments, and CI/CD workflows.

Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.

Ability to design secure, scalable, and maintainable applications.

Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.

Ability to properly review, test, and improve AI-generated code.

Strong problem-solving, ownership, and communication skills.

Ability to work from our Bestech Business Towers office in Mohali.

Positive to Have

Experience working with SaaS, ERP, edtech, or workflow-based products.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.

Experience with caching, queues, background jobs, monitoring, and application security.

Experience mentoring engineers or leading the technical delivery of major features.
