Role Purpose

Responsible for end-to-end management of the Washing Machine category including buying, ranging, sourcing, procurement, pricing, vendor management, product launches, training, content management, and overall business performance. The role ensures the right product mix, competitive pricing, and profitable growth while supporting sales, marketing, customer experience, and business strategy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop annual category strategy & budget with Finance, review monthly, and achieve Sales & Gross Profit targets.
- Buy, range, and manage the category based on consumer demand and business goals.
- Ensure fair and competitive pricing across merchandise.
- Procure, and develop products including new suppliers (India & Overseas); consolidate supplier base where appropriate.
- Manage product lifecycle evaluation, listing, delisting, and supplier consolidation.
- Plan and execute new product launches including statutory approvals, QC, packaging, artworks, and instruction manuals.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts, rebates, and promotional plans with suppliers.
- Coordinate forecasting (item-level & promotional)



with Supplier; update and adjust models as needed.
- Plan and monitor inventory to maintain optimal stock levels and ensure availability during promotions/seasonal demand.
- Support marketing in advertising submissions, campaign briefs, product creatives, demo videos, and content accuracy.
- Verify and finalize product content across channels and ensure training delivery for RSMs, stores, and service teams.
- Monitor market activities, competitor pricing, and trends to identify threats and opportunities.
- Provide weekly and ad-hoc category performance reporting with insights and dashboards.
- Analyze effectiveness of promotions and ensure first-to-market advantage for critical SKUs.

- Robust vendor negotiation & relationship management
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SAP or similar tools
- Knowledge of consumer durable market, consumer trends & competition
- Strategic planning with P&L; ownership
- Excellent communication, training, and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate / MBA in Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
- 10+ year of experience in Buying / Category Management.
- Proven track record in large-scale procurement, vendor management, and product launches
