Senior Manager Procurement

Industry: Automobile Aftermarket / Spare Parts (B2B) Location: Bangalore (Head Office)

Reporting To: Head of Sales & Operations Team Size: 10–12 members (growing organization)

Role Summary

Koovers is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager – Procurement to lead end-to-end procurement operations for automobile spare parts across India. The role will be responsible for strategic sourcing, OEM/OES vendor development, procurement automation, inventory planning, commercial negotiations, and cross-functional coordination to support the company’s rapid growth.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the automotive aftermarket ecosystem, solid vendor relationships, commercial acumen, and the ability to build scalable procurement processes powered by technology and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Vendor Management

- Lead procurement operations for automobile spare parts across multiple regions and categories.
- Develop and expand strategic relationships with OEM, OES, and aftermarket suppliers.
- Independently empanel new vendors to strengthen sourcing capabilities and improve product availability.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing, payment terms,



rebates, and annual contracts to optimize cost and margins.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, fill rates, and quality compliance.

Strategic Sourcing & Inventory Planning

- Design and implement procurement strategies aligned with sales growth, inventory targets, and business expansion plans.
- Drive inventory optimization and ensure timely availability of fast-moving and critical spare parts.
- Analyze market trends, pricing movements, and sourcing opportunities to improve procurement efficiency.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to forecast demand and improve procurement planning accuracy.

Procurement Automation & Systems

- Support automation of procurement workflows through ERP, web, mobile, and digital platforms.
- Work closely with technology and cataloging teams to improve procurement visibility, product information management (PIM), and sourcing intelligence.
- Drive process improvements in purchase order management, vendor communication, approvals, and reconciliation systems.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with Accounts teams to ensure timely vendor payments, reconciliation, and dispute resolution.
- Work closely with inward, warehouse, and quality teams to resolve shortages, damages, returns,



and quality-related concerns.
- Provide regular updates to Sales and Operations teams regarding stock availability, procurement status, ETAs, and vendor commitments.
- Monitor pending credit notes, claims, and commercial settlements with suppliers.

Leadership & Team Management

- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to achieve operational and business goals.
- Establish procurement KPIs, SOPs, governance mechanisms, and performance review processes.
- Build a data-driven and process-oriented procurement culture focused on efficiency, scalability, and accountability.

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience

- 10–15 years of experience in procurement within the automobile spare parts or automotive aftermarket industry.
- Strong exposure to OEM/OES sourcing, vendor negotiations, and category procurement.
- Experience in high-volume B2B distribution or aftermarket environments preferred.
- Proven track record in procurement process optimization and inventory management.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong network with OEM/OES vendors and aftermarket suppliers.
- Excellent negotiation, commercial, and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working with ERP systems, procurement tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership capability to scale teams and drive operational excellence.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree
- MBA in Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, or related specialization preferred.
