Role Objective The Senior Manager MEP will lead the end-to-end design validation, engineering integration, and execution of all MEP systems for hyperscale, AI-ready data center projects. The role is responsible for ensuring that electrical, mechanical, ELV/ICT, and fire & life safety systems are technically robust, Tier III/IV compliant, energy-efficient, and fully integrated with civil and structural works.
This position acts as a technical authority and execution leader, bridging the gap between design consultant deliverables and on-site implementation, ensuring seamless transition from Basis of Design (BoD) through IFC, construction, commissioning, and handover.
The objective is to deliver high-reliability, fault-tolerant infrastructure that meets performance targets (PUE/WUE), cost efficiency, quality standards, and aggressive project timelines, while enabling scalable and future-ready data center operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end MEP delivery (Electrical, Mechanical, ELV, ICT, Fire & Life Safety) for hyperscale data center projects, ensuring alignment with design intent, cost, quality, and timelines.
- Perform design validation and technical governance of BoD, DBRs, and multidisciplinary MEP design packages across all stages (30% / 60% / 90% / IFC).
- Review and validate GFC drawings for constructability, accuracy, redundancy compliance, and coordination with civil/structural systems.
- Validate and ensure robustness of:
- Electrical systems (EHV/HT/LT, GIS substations, transformers, UPS, DG, redundancy 2N/N+1 architectures)
- Mechanical systems (hybrid cooling Direct-to-Chip liquid cooling, CRAH/CRAC, chilled water systems, heat rejection systems)
- ELV/ICT systems (DCIM, BMS/IBMS, structured backbone cabling, security systems)
- Fire & life safety systems (VESDA, gas suppression, fire zoning)
- Ensure compliance with Tier III/IV standards, TIA-942, NFPA, ASHRAE/ISHRAE, IEC, NBC, LEED/IGBC requirements.
- Drive peer reviews and value engineering for energy efficiency (PUE/WUE), lifecycle optimization, and cost reduction.
- Support preconstruction phases (Stage 1 & Stage 2) including:
- Electrical and mechanical system architecture freeze
- Load calculations, redundancy philosophy, and capacity planning
- CFD analysis validation and energy modelling
- Define system configurations, equipment sizing,
and interface requirements for Long Lead Equipment (LLE).
- Contribute to technical specifications, BOQs, tender packaging strategy, and RFP documentation.
- Lead site execution of all MEP systems, ensuring:
- Installation as per approved IFC/GFC drawings
- Compliance with technical specifications and redundancy requirements
- Manage MEP contractors, vendors, OEMs, and PMC teams.
- Establish execution sequencing, workfront planning, and site readiness for MEP installations.
- Drive progress tracking, MIS reporting, and milestone achievement.
- Ensure multidisciplinary coordination across MEP, civil, architectural systems, including internal stakeholders of Segnol operation team
- Lead BIM coordination (LOD 300400) ensuring 95% clash-free design prior to execution.
- Resolve interface issues between high side (LLE) and low side distribution systems.
- Conduct coordination workshops with design consultants, OEMs, and contractors.
- Establish and enforce QA/QC systems, SOPs, method statements, and inspection plans for MEP works.
- Conduct technical audits, inspections, and testing validations.
- Drive EHS implementation including safety procedures, HIRA, and contractor compliance.
- Ensure adherence to statutory approvals and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and control MEP project budgets, including major equipment and distribution systems.
- Track cost variations, change orders, and procurement alignment.
- Support techno-commercial evaluations of MEP systems and vendors, including lifecycle cost analysis.
- Ensure alignment with project cash flow and cost targets.
- Identify design and execution risks, including system redundancy failures and integration gaps.
- Lead value engineering initiatives focusing on:
- Energy efficiency (PUE optimization)
- Water efficiency (WUE optimization)
- System reliability and maintainability
- Lead commissioning and testing activities, including:
- Level 15 commissioning
- Integrated Systems Testing (IST)
- Performance validation of electrical and cooling systems
- Witness FAT- factory acceptance Tests for LLE like DG, chillers, UPS load Performance teats.
- Ensure readiness for handover, as-built validation, and DLP support.
Key Deliverables
- Validated BoD, DBRs, and IFC/GFC packages for all MEP systems.
- Electrical SLDs, mechanical schematics, and coordinated system layouts.
- Load calculations, redundancy validation reports, CFD and energy modelling outputs.
- MEP execution schedules (MSP/Primavera) integrated with civil works.
- Technical specifications, BOQs, and tender documentation for MEP packages.
- Contractor performance reports, progress MIS, and quality audit reports.
- Clash-free BIM models (LOD 300400) with 95% coordination compliance.
- MEP SOPs, QA/QC documentation, method statements, and safety compliance systems.
- Commissioning reports, IST documentation, and performance validation reports.
