Job Summary

The incumbent shall be responsible for complete AC-side engineering of utility-scale solar power projects, including OEM engineering, detailed engineering, pre-bid support, equipment selection, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The role requires sound knowledge of power evacuation systems, substations, switchyards, grid compliance requirements, and engineering deliverables for EPC Projects.

Key Responsibilities

A. AC Side Engineering

- Preparation and review of AC-side detailed engineering deliverables for Solar PV projects.

- Design and selection of major electrical equipment including:

- Inverter Duty Transformers (IDT)

- Power Transformers

- HT/LT Panels

- RMUs

- VCB Panels

- SCADA System

- UPS System

- Auxiliary Transformers

- Metering Panels

- Switchyard Equipment

- Preparation of Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Cable Schedules, Earthing Layouts, and Lighting Layouts.

- HT and LT cable sizing and voltage drop calculations.

- Preparation of AC cable routing drawings and BOQ.

B. OEM Engineering

- Coordination with OEMs for engineering inputs and technical clarifications.

- Review and approval of OEM documents, datasheets, drawings, and technical specifications.

- Interface management between EPC teams, consultants, and equipment suppliers.

- Preparation of technical bid evaluations and recommendation reports.

- Ensuring compliance with customer specifications, IEC, IEEE, IS, and utility standards.

Power System

Studies

- Perform and review:

- Load Flow Studies

- Short Circuit Studies

- Reactive Power Compensation Studies

- Harmonic Analysis

- Grid Compliance Studies

- Coordinate with consultants for studies using ETAP, DIgSILENT, or equivalent software.

D. Pre-Bid & Proposal Support

- Support business development and tender teams during bid preparation.

- Preparation of technical specifications and RFQs.





- Review of customer tender documents and identification of engineering risks.

- Preparation of cost-effective and optimized engineering solutions.

E.

Project

Coordination

- Coordination with Civil, Structural, DC Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning teams.

- Participation in engineering review meetings with clients and consultants.

- Monitoring engineering schedules and timely submission of project deliverables.

- Support commissioning and troubleshooting activities during project execution.

Required Technical Skills

- Utility Scale Solar PV Engineering.

- AC System Design and Detailed Engineering.

- Switchyard Design up to 132 kV.

- Power Evacuation System Engineering.

- Grid Compliance and Interconnection Requirements.

- Technical Specification Preparation.

Software Proficiency

- AutoCAD

- ETAP (Preferred)

- DIgSILENT PowerFactory (Preferred)

- PVSyst

- MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

- Experience with EPC/OEM organizations in the renewable energy sector.

- Exposure to utility-scale solar projects across India and international markets.

- Hands-on experience in AC-side engineering for projects involving 33kV to 132kV evacuation systems.

- Experience in coordination with utilities, consultants, and equipment manufacturers.
