About the Role:

The Assistant Manager Design (AC Side Solar) will be responsible for AC-side electrical design of rooftop and ground-mounted solar power plants. The role includes preparing and reviewing AC layouts, SLDs, cable schedules, and Bills of Materials related to inverters, LT/HT panels, transformers, transmission line and substation and associated BOS components. The candidate will coordinate with project teams, clients, and vendors to ensure timely design approvals, compliance with engineering standards, and resolution of technical issues.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, working knowledge of PVsyst, and experience in AC systems 33kV and above are essential. This position is based out of the Bengaluru office with occasional site visits.

Responsibilities:





- Designing solar power plants while ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and compliance with engineering standards.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop detailed engineering plans including electrical schematics, layouts, and project specifications.
- Reviewing and providing oversight on detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) for solar power plant layouts.
- Reviewing and providing oversight on key project drawings such as Plant PV Layout, SLD, Earthing Layout, String Layout, DC & AC cable routing, and Lightning Arrester/Module Mounting Structure Layout.
- Ensure timely closure and compliance of all engineering drawings as per the master drawings list.
- Perform essential electrical engineering calculationsincluding cable sizing, earthing, LV/MV panel sizing , CT and PT Sizing for 33kV and above, and selection of LV/MV switchgears, transformers, C & R Panel, Conductor sizing etc.
- Prepare cable schedules for all power, control, and communication cables, with added advantage of possessing knowledge in SCADA and monitoring systems.
- Exposure to handling LT panels, HT panels, transformers, Switch Yard and Transmission line will be considered an added advantage.




- Ability to work independently and ensure design approvals by coordinating effectively with clients and project managers while responsibly managing multiple projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to electrical components and systems in solar power plants.
- Independently handled end-to-end AC-side electrical design for solar power projects with a minimum capacity of at least 10 MW.

Qualifications:

- B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech/M.E./Diploma in Electrical Engineering/EEE/ECE or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in designing solar power plants.
- Minimum 6 years relevant work experience for diploma candidates.

Software Tools:

- Must Have: Autocad, Google Sketchup, PVsyst, MS Office etc.
- Added Advantage: Helioscope, HOMER Pro, Etap, PSCAD / DIgSILENT

Required Skill-Set:

- Hands-on experience in AC-side solar design, including inverters, LT/HT panels, transformers, earthing, lightning protection, and AC cable routing.
- Robust knowledge of electrical calculations such as AC cable sizing, earthing, and LV/MV panel and switchgear, CT , PT , C & R Panel selections (33kV and above).
- Ability to prepare and review SLDs, three-line diagrams, cable schedules, and AC-side BOMs.
- Familiarity with on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid systems, with primary focus on AC integration.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, and local regulations).
- Effective coordination skills with clients, vendors, and internal teams, and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Exposure to SCADA and monitoring systems is an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
