Role & responsibilities

1. Follow Up on Outstanding Claims

- Contact insurance companies regarding unpaid or underpaid claims.

- Check claim status through payer portals or phone calls.

- Identify reasons for claim delays or denials.

1. Resolve Denied Claims

- Analyze denial reasons.

- Work with billing and coding teams to correct claim errors.

- Initiate appeals and resubmit claims when necessary.

1. Payment Posting Verification

- Verify payments received from insurance companies.

- Ensure payments are correctly applied to patient accounts.

- Investigate discrepancies between billed and paid amounts.

1. Account Reconciliation

- Review accounts receivable aging reports.

- Prioritize high-value and overdue accounts.

- Maintain accurate account records.

1. Insurance Verification and Coordination

- Confirm patient insurance coverage details.

- Coordinate benefits when multiple insurance plans are involved.

- Verify eligibility and authorization requirements.

1. Documentation and Reporting

- Document all call activities and follow-up actions.

- Update account notes in billing software.

- Prepare reports on claim status, collections, and denials.

1. Escalation Management

- Escalate unresolved issues to supervisors or payer representatives.





- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve complex cases.

Preferred candidate profile

- Bachelor's degree in any discipline (preferred).

- 05 years of experience in US Healthcare AR Calling or Medical Billing (freshers can be considered for trainee roles).

- Good understanding of the US healthcare system, medical billing, and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).

- Knowledge of insurance claim processing, denials, appeals, and payment follow-up.

- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and medical terminology is an added advantage.

- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with a neutral accent.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Good negotiation and customer service skills while interacting with insurance representatives.

- Proficiency in MS Office and medical billing software/payer portals.

- Ability to work in rotational or night shifts (US shift).

- Solid attention to detail and ability to meet daily productivity and quality targets.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

- Willingness to learn, adapt, and handle challenging claim scenarios efficiently.
