Learn more: www.edept.co About The Role We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Admission Counselor who is fluent in Telugu to counsel prospective students interested in studying abroad. You will play a key role in guiding students and parents through their overseas education journey via face-to-face counselling sessions. Your focus will be to understand student aspirations, recommend the right universities and courses across destinations (USA, Germany, Australia and more) and provide end-to-end support from enquiry to admission.

The ideal candidate will have strong counseling and sales skills, experience handling admission enquiries, and the ability to guide students through the complete admission journey—from initial consultation to enrolment.

Key Responsibilities

Counsel students and parents regarding international education opportunities.

Understand students' academic background and career aspirations to recommend suitable programs and universities.

Handle inbound and outbound leads through calls, WhatsApp, email, and virtual meetings.

Convert enquiries into successful admissions while achieving monthly targets.

Explain program details, admission requirements,



eligibility criteria, scholarships, and visa processes.

Follow up with prospective students regularly using the CRM.

Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions and application status.

Coordinate with internal teams including admissions, documentation, marketing, and university partners.

Guide them on country options, universities, courses, and eligibility requirements.

Support students with applications, documentation, interview, and visa processes.

Build strong relationships and trust to drive conversion of enquiries to admissions.

Achieve monthly counselling and enrolment targets.

Build long-term relationships with students and parents throughout the admission process.

Assist junior counselors by sharing best practices and supporting team performance.

Ensure an excellent student experience from enquiry to enrolment.

Required

Skills

Fluent in Telugu and English (Hindi is an added advantage).

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in education sales (with at least 1 year in the same company).

Study Abroad knowledge is must – USA & Germany an added advantage.

Strong communication and influencing skills to engage effectively with students and parents.

Demonstrated track record of achieving counselling/enrolment targets.

Minimum education qualification: Graduation in any stream; Postgraduate preferred.





Excellent communication and counselling skills.

Strong sales and negotiation abilities.

Target-oriented with a proven admission conversion track record.

Ability to build rapport with students and parents.

Good presentation and objection-handling skills.

Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office/Google Workspace. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Master's preferred).

3–6 years of experience in Study Abroad Admissions, Overseas Education Consulting, or EdTech.

Experience counselling students for countries such as the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Recent Zealand, Germany, or Singapore is preferred.

Preferred Candidate

Profile

Prior experience working with overseas education consultancies or EdTech companies.

Strong understanding of university admission processes and documentation.

Familiarity with IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, GRE, GMAT, or other entrance requirements is an advantage.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Willingness to work on weekends if required during peak admission cycles.
