Position: Software Development Engineer in Test (Full-Time)

Experience of years: 2 to 13 years

About the Role The ideal candidate is a person with QA mindset and Python expert with hands-on experience in testing, automation frameworks, and Linux systems. Experience in K8s is desirable. This role requires a good understanding of microservices (K8s is a plus), with exposure to cloud infrastructure and system-level automation.

Key Responsibilities

- Product architecture grasping
- Understand product requirements and create test scenarios and test cases.
- Execute functional, regression, and integration tests .

- Identify, log, and track defects through resolution and understands Priority vs Severity.
- Ensure adequate test coverage across releases .

- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to drive test scenarios, defect fixing and defect reproduction.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and reviews.
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks primarily using Python and Pytest .

- Define automation strategies and test approaches for Linux-based systems .

- Set up, configure, and manage test environments , leveraging high-level system administration skills.

- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins , integrating with various test automation workflows.

- Write and optimize shell scripts and Jenkins Groovy scripts for automation and deployment tasks.




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support test automation frameworks in microservices and cloud-based architectures .

- Perform basic Kubernetes operations (deployment, scaling, monitoring).
- Contribute to performance and scalability testing (valuable to have).
- Work in an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous integration cycles.

Required Skills & Experience

- 2–12 years of experience in software testing / QA .

- Hands on experience in working on K8s/containers/dockers is desirable
- Strong skills in test case design and manual testing .

- Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Bugzilla, CDETS etc.).

- Good understanding of SDLC/STLC and testing techniques .

- Strong analytical and communication skills

- Infrastructure & Tools: Jenkins (CI/CD), Linux, Shell scripting (good to have)

- Containerization & Orchestration:

- Cloud: AWS (EC2, EKS) — good to have

- Database Knowledge: Basics of Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Lakehouse etc.

- Development Practices: Agile methodology and CI/CD knowledge

- Security testing experience is a plus
- Experience with API testing (Postman, REST)
