In this crucial role, you will play a key part in building and maintaining strong relationships with our network of suppliers. You will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring our supply chain runs smoothly to meet the demands of our EV charger production.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify potential new vendors of electrical and electronic components, raw materials, and manufacturing services relevant to EV charger production.
- Develop and implement a robust vendor qualification process, evaluating potential suppliers based on factors such as quality, capacity, cost, and lead times.
- Negotiate favourable pricing and terms with vendors, ensuring they align with our business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, fostering open communication and collaboration.
- Track vendor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Continuously analyse vendor pricing and explore opportunities for cost reduction through negotiation, alternative sourcing, and value engineering.
- Stay informed of industry trends and developments in the electronics supply chain.
Skills
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in vendor development or a related field, preferably within the electrical and electronics manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, negotiation techniques, and supply chain management.
- Proven experience in qualifying and on boarding new vendors.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost optimization.
- Experience with contract negotiation and management.
- Proficient in SAP, MS Office Suite and ERP systems.
- Robust communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally for vendor visits (if applicable).
