Strong verbal and written communication required The Technical Lead owns how the system is built, integrated, secured, and operatedthe configuration mechanics, data flows, integration, extensibility, and setting/release management that make the functional design run. Ariba Upstream (Strategic Sourcing) Technical Lead

1. Sourcing (RFx & Auctions) Build & Mechanics

- Technically configure event and project templates, phases, conditions, and the rules/weighting engine.
- Configure custom offerings, terms, and formula-based scoring.
- Implement bulk participant and line-item data loads.
- Troubleshoot event publishing, award scenarios, and optimization failures.

2. Contract Management (CLM) Build & Mechanics

- Configure contract workspace templates, clause/assembly logic, and the Microsoft Word authoring add-in.
- Integrate DocuSign or Adobe Sign.
- Map contract attributes and hierarchies.
- Build publish-to-ERP outbound contract flows.
- Automate amendment and renewal processes.

3. Supplier Lifecycle & Performance (SLP) — Build & Mechanics

- Implement supplier data models.
- Configure registration, qualification, modular questionnaires, and process flows.
- Develop Supplier Management SOAP/REST API integrations.
- Configure supplier hierarchy and duplicate prevention.
- Integrate third-party risk and data providers (D&B;, EcoVadis, RiskMethods).

4. Spend Analysis / Data Pipeline

- Build spend-data load files and ETL processes.
- Load taxonomy and commodity enrichment data.
- Configure scheduled import/export tasks.
- Implement analytical reporting using Ariba Analysis, Prism, and SAP Analytics Cloud.

5. Configuration & Environment Management

- Own site parameters.
- Manage CSV data import/export tasks.
- Configure custom/flex fields and master data.
- Implement configuration workbooks.
- Migrate templates and workspaces between Development, Test, and Production realms.

6. Integration & Master Data (Core)

- Design and build supplier, commodity, and organizational master-data integrations with SAP ERP/S4HANA using SAP CIG.

- Implement CIF catalog loads and validation.
- Configure PunchOut and PunchOut Level 2.
- Configure catalog kits.
- Map pricing and units of measure.
- Integrate supplier catalogs.
- Automate catalog uploads and refreshes.

3. Requisitioning & PO Processing — Build & Mechanics

- Configure approval-rule engines.
- Configure custom fields.
