Role Description The Sales Manager – Freight Forwarding is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This role is responsible for generating recent business, managing existing client relationships, and promoting Bilander Logistics’ freight forwarding and NVOCC services. Day-to-day tasks include identifying prospective clients, preparing and presenting proposals, negotiating rates and contracts, and following up to secure bookings.

Manager will coordinate with operations and documentation teams to ensure smooth execution of shipments and maintain high customer satisfaction. The role also involves monitoring market trends, competing services, and pricing to develop effective sales strategies and achieve revenue targets.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, NVOCC operations, project logistics, and break bulk handling.

Proven experience in sales or business development within logistics, shipping, or related sectors.

Ability to build and maintain client relationships, with strong negotiation and presentation skills.

Proficiency in using CRM tools, MS Office applications, and basic data analysis for sales reporting.

Excellent communication skills in English; additional regional or international language skills are an advantage.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; relevant certifications are beneficial.

Self-motivated, target-oriented, and able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Willingness to travel locally and regionally for client meetings and market development as required.
