Job Description (JD) – Senior Secondary Teacher – Business Studies & Entrepreneurship

Location: EuroSchool Whitefield, Bengaluru
Department: Senior Secondary (Commerce)
Reports To: Vice Principal / Principal

Role Purpose

The Senior Secondary Teacher – Business Studies & Entrepreneurship is responsible for delivering engaging, concept-driven instruction for Grades XI & XII in accordance with the CBSE curriculum. The teacher will inspire students to develop business acumen, entrepreneurial thinking, financial literacy, innovation, and problem-solving skills while preparing them for Board examinations and future career pathways. This aligns with EuroSchool's emphasis on academic excellence, holistic development, and future-ready learning.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Business Studies and Entrepreneurship as per CBSE guidelines.
- Develop annual curriculum plans, lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and assessments.
- Prepare students for CBSE Board Examinations through structured revision plans, sample papers, and practice tests.
- Foster conceptual understanding using case studies, business simulations, project-based learning, and real-world examples.
- Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance classroom engagement.
- Conduct regular formative and summative assessments and provide constructive feedback.

Student Development

- Encourage critical thinking, innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Mentor students in academic planning, career guidance, and commerce-related competitive examinations.
- Guide students in business projects, presentations, research activities,



and entrepreneurship fairs.
- Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support where required.

Classroom Management

- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.
- Ensure student safety, engagement, and well-being.
- Promote cooperative learning and active participation.

Parent & Stakeholder Engagement

- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding academic progress.
- Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings and counselling sessions.
- Collaborate with coordinators, counsellors, and leadership for student success.

School Responsibilities

- Participate in school events, assemblies, exhibitions, admissions, and co-curricular activities.
- Contribute to curriculum enrichment initiatives.
- Support interdisciplinary learning and school projects.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development programmes, and mandatory trainings.

Qualification

- Master's Degree in Commerce (M.Com) /MA Economics or equivalent.
- B.Ed. (Mandatory).
- NET/SET qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience

- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience in Business Studies and/or Entrepreneurship at the Senior Secondary (Grades XI & XII) level.
- Prior experience in a CBSE-affiliated school is preferred.




- Demonstrated track record of producing strong Board examination results.
