About the Role:
The Estimation & Purchase Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates and managing procurement activities for electrical contracting projects. The role ensures cost control, timely material availability, and coordination with vendors, project teams, and site engineers.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities

Estimation & Costing

Study tender documents, drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications for electrical works.

Prepare detailed cost estimates for HT/LT systems, panels, cabling, lighting, earthing, ELV systems, and allied works.

Perform quantity take-offs and rate analysis based on market trends.

Prepare comparative statements and support tender submissions.

Coordinate with design, site, and project teams to finalize estimates.

Procurement & Purchasing

Identify approved vendors and obtain quotations for electrical materials and equipment.

Negotiate prices, delivery schedules,



and payment terms with suppliers.

Prepare purchase orders in line with project budgets and timelines.

Ensure timely procurement of materials to avoid site delays.

Verify material specifications, makes, and compliance with project requirements.

Coordination & Documentation

Coordinate with site engineers for material requirements and delivery planning.

Maintain procurement records, purchase registers, and vendor databases.

Track material consumption versus estimates and report deviations.

Assist in billing support by providing quantity and cost data.

Cost Control & Reporting

Monitor project costs and support value engineering initiatives.

Analyze cost variations and assist in budget optimization.

Support management with MIS reports related to estimation and procurement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

2–5 years of experience in electrical contracting, estimation, or procurement.

Strong knowledge of electrical materials, standards, and market rates.

Proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with estimation software is an advantage.

Positive negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.

Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects.

Preferred Industry Experience

Commercial buildings, industrial projects, educational campuses, hospitals, or infrastructure electrical works.
