Endoscopy Nurse Manager oversees the daily clinical and administrative operations of the Endoscopy Unit. Responsibilities include managing nursing staff, ensuring patient safety, optimizing procedure scheduling, maintaining stringent infection control standards, and managing equipment inventory.

Key Responsibilities

- Clinical Operations: Supervise pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure nursing care. Coordinate with gastroenterologists, surgeons, and anesthesiologists for smooth patient flow.
- Staff Management: Recruit, onboard, schedule, and evaluate nursing and technical staff. Conduct continuous education on sedation protocols, emergency response, and equipment handling.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to hospital policies, statutory regulations, and accreditation standards. Oversee incident reporting and quality improvement audits.
- Infection Control: Monitor the proper cleaning, high-level disinfection, and sterilization of endoscopes and accessories.
- Inventory & Budget:



Manage department budgets, order consumables/medications, and coordinate maintenance for endoscopy towers and scopes.

Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Typically 10+ years of nursing experience, with 5 years in an endoscopy or procedural care setting, plus prior supervisory experience.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are mandatory. Gastroenterology Nursing certification (CGRN) is often preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment capabilities, knowledge of endoscopic equipment, and proficiency in conflict resolution and staff rostering.
