Position description: Jindal Stainless Limited is seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to oversee the Defense - STG (NPD and Process Control) department within our Mining & Metals division. This role demands a seasoned professional with a strong background in new product development and process optimization, specifically tailored to the defense sector's stringent quality and performance standards. The successful candidate will drive innovation, ensure process excellence, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions that align with the company’s growth objectives and compliance requirements. This position requires a deep understanding of metallurgical processes, project management, and regulatory frameworks pertinent to defense applications in the mining and metals industry.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the New Product Development (NPD) initiatives within the Defense - STG segment, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals and defense industry standards.
- Develop and implement advanced process control methodologies to optimize production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in stainless steel manufacturing.
- Collaborate with R&D;, engineering, and quality assurance teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement in product design and manufacturing processes.
- Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of defense-specific metallurgical products and solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant defense regulations, industry standards,



and internal quality management systems.
- Analyze process data and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to enhance product reliability and process stability.
- Drive stakeholder engagement across internal departments and external partners to facilitate seamless communication and project alignment.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation for senior management and defense clients.
- Provide technical support to customers regarding material performance and applications.
- Heat Treatment & Process Optimization

- Establish and monitor heat treatment cycles and metallurgical parameters.
- Improve hardness, toughness, strength, ductility, and grain structure through process optimization.
- Reduce rejection, rework, and process variation.

- Significant HT Knowledge Areas such as TTT & CCT Diagrams, Hardenability Concepts, Phase Transformation, Tempering Behavior etc
