Roles and Responsibility/ Duties to be performed:-
- Develop and implement the organization's Fire &
- Safety strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead the Fire &
- Safety department and establish annual objectives, KPIs, and improvement plans.
- Promote a robust safety culture through leadership engagement and employee participation.
- Ensure implementation of Safety Management Systems across all plant operations.
- Conduct hazard identification, risk assessment, and implementation of suitable control measures.
- Develop and implement Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs), Permit to Work (PTW),
- LOTO, confined space, work at height, hot work, excavation, and lifting safety procedures etc.
- Ensure effective contractor safety management throughout project and operational activities.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and fire-related statutory requirements.
- Liaise with government authorities including Factory Inspectorate, Fire Department,PESO, and other regulatory agencies.
- Maintain all statutory records, licenses, approvals, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate statutory inspections and ensure timely closure of observations.
- Develop and maintain the Emergency Response Plan.
- Lead incident management.
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, and compliance verification.
- Monitor implementation of safety observations and corrective actions.
- Review critical risk activities and ensure adequate controls.
- Lead safety training module.
- Organize safety campaigns, toolbox talks, and awareness programs.
- Monitor safety KPIs including LTIFR, TRIR, fire incidents, unsafe acts/conditions, PTW.
- Compliance, audit findings, and training effectiveness etc.
- Prepare monthly and annual safety reports for management.
- Present safety performance to senior leadership.
- Prepare and manage Fire &
- Safety departmental budget.
- Promote digital systems for inspections, observations, incident reporting, audits, and compliance tracking etc.
- Benchmark industry best practices and implement continual improvement initiatives.
Functional Competencies :-
- Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment :Ability to conduct thorough site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Deep understanding of local and National occupational health and safety (OHS) laws and standards relevant to our industry.
- Incident Investigation: Proficiency in root cause analysis (RCA) and the ability to document and report on workplace accidents or near-misses.
- Emergency Response Planning: Experience in developing and coordinating emergency evacuation drills and fire safety protocols.
- Safety Training and Instruction: Competency in designing and delivering safety induction programs and specialized technical training for employees.
- Safety Auditing: Ability to perform regular internal audits to ensure adherence to safety management systems and protocols.
