Position Purpose The role holder will report to the Group Leader - Biology and will be responsible for maintaining and rearing honey bees, fish, earthworms, Daphnia, and other beneficial organisms, while testing new compounds to assess any adverse effects and conduct bioavailability studies. The role holder will identify target organisms and evaluate leads using in vivo testing methods, along with the propagation and maintenance of plant pathogens and evaluation of new active ingredients against them through in vitro studies. The incumbent will also be responsible for the multiplication of pathogens, insects, and nematodes, and for testing new active ingredients against various pathogen, insect, and nematode species to advance identified leads from discovery to pre-development and development of innovative crop protection and crop enhancement products.
Additionally, the role holder will be responsible for the propagation and maintenance of cell lines and testing new active ingredients to characterize their toxicological profile. The incumbent will develop and apply biochemical approaches, experimental design methodologies, and data interpretation techniques in close collaboration with the Mode of Action team. A strong publication record and excellent communication skills are essential.
