Applied Theatre India Foundation is looking for a highly motivated Research Associate who wants to contribute to meaningful cultural change while working with artists, universities, foundations, researchers, and international organisations across the world.

This is not a routine desk job.

You will become part of a growing organisation working to position India as a global leader in Applied Theatre and Arts-based Learning. You will participate in projects involving research, international collaborations, cultural diplomacy, funding proposals, conferences, publications, and artist residency programmes.

Your Role As a Research Associate, you will work directly with the Director on projects that have national and international significance. Your work will include research, communication, partnership development, proposal writing, and project coordination. No two days will be the same.

Key Responsibilities

1. Research

- Conduct literature reviews and background research.
- Identify emerging trends in arts, culture, education, and applied theatre.
- Prepare research briefs and reports.
- Support academic publications.




- Assist with conference papers and presentations.
- Maintain a digital research database.

2. International Collaborations

- Identify potential international partners.
- Research universities, cultural organisations, foundations, and residency programmes.
- Build databases of collaborators.
- Draft partnership proposals.
- Coordinate meetings with international stakeholders.
- Maintain communication with overseas partners.

3. Fundraising & Grant Development

- Identify grant opportunities.
- Research funding agencies worldwide.
- Track grant deadlines.
- Assist in writing grant applications.
- Prepare supporting documentation.
- Coordinate information required for funding proposals.

4. International Residency Support planning and execution of ATI Foundation's International Residency by:

- Researching residency models
- Developing programme documentation
- Coordinating international artists
- Preparing information packs
- Managing timelines
- Supporting logistics
- Assisting with international communications

5. Documentation & Knowledge Management

- Prepare reports and presentations.
- Maintain databases and documentation.
- Organise digital files.
- Record meeting minutes.
- Create knowledge resources for the organisation.

Essential Skills We are looking for someone who is:

- An excellent English writer and communicator.
- Curious and eager to learn.
- Highly organised.
- Comfortable conducting independent research.
- Able to work with deadlines.
- Detail-oriented.




- Professional in email communication.
- Confident using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- Comfortable learning new digital tools and AI-assisted research workflows.
