About SHELY
SHELY is building a women's and family health platform for India — cycle and pregnancy tracking, telehealth, records, and tools for clinics, labs and pharmacies. We are pre-launch and the team is small, so you will work on things people actually use rather than a sandbox project.
About this internship
This is a QA / Test Engineering internship, open to engineering students and recent graduates. Basics are enough — we would rather teach you the rest. Finding the broken things before patients do is one of the most useful roles we have, and a genuinely valuable way into software.
What you will do
- Click through real user journeys and write down precisely what breaks
- Write automated browser tests with Playwright (we will teach you)
- Check that what the screen says actually matches what got saved
- Build a regression suite so the same bug cannot come back twice
What we need from you
This is the real bar. If you meet it, please apply.
- Basic programming in any language, enough to read and edit a script
- Patience and an eye for detail. Being mildly annoyed by broken things is a real qualification here
- Clear written English. A good bug report is the whole job
Nice to have — genuinely optional, and not having these will not count against you
- Any exposure to Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or Postman
- Interest in how software quality is actually measured
What we offer
- Stipend of INR 5,000 per month, paid monthly
- Fully remote — work from anywhere in India, no relocation
- Flexible 3 to 6 months, and we will work around your exam and semester dates
- Real work on a live codebase, not a sandbox project
- A completion certificate and a letter of recommendation describing what you actually did
- Direct working contact with the founder, no layers
Being honest with you
We would rather you know this before applying than after joining.
- We are pre-launch and small. Some weeks are messy and priorities move
- INR 5,000 a month is a learning stipend, not a salary. Please weigh that honestly against your situation
- We cannot promise a full-time offer at the end. That depends on funding, and you will hear it from us directly and early
- You will need your own laptop and a workable internet connection
How to apply
Email
[email protected] with "QA / Test Engineering Intern" in the subject line. Attach your CV as a single PDF and anything you have built — GitHub, a college project, a blog. Coursework counts. In three or four sentences, tell us why women's and family health interests you. We read every one of these.
What happens next
We read your application and reply either way, usually within a week. Then a 20 to 30 minute call, one small take-home task scoped to about 3 to 4 hours, and a final call. We do not set unpaid multi-day assignments.
