Project Manager / Technical Delivery Manager
About the Role
We are looking for a Project Manager with a proven technical background to lead delivery for our internal Tooling team. You bring real, hands-on experience working in software engineering or a technical discipline and now apply that foundation to drive execution, own the Scrum process, and manage tooling across the Atlassian ecosystem. You won't need things explained twice in sprint grooming, and you'll earn credibility with engineers from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Scrum & Delivery Management
- Own and facilitate the full Scrum cycle: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog grooming
- Maintain a healthy, prioritised backlog in collaboration with engineering leads and stakeholders
- Use your technical background to write well-defined stories, assess complexity, and challenge unrealistic estimates
- Track sprint velocity, capacity, and commitments; proactively identify and remove blockers
- Drive continuous improvement actions arising from retrospectives
Atlassian Tooling (Hands-on)
- Administer and maintain Jira Software / Jira Service Management (JSM) projects workflows, board configuration, automation rules, permission schemes, and screen schemes
- Build and manage Confluence spaces for documentation, runbooks, ADRs, sprint artefacts, and team wikis
- Configure JSM service desk queues, SLAs, request types, and customer portals
- Create and own Jira dashboards, gadgets, and JQL-based filters for real-time team and stakeholder visibility
- Evaluate and onboard Atlassian Marketplace apps as needed
Reporting & Metrics
- Generate and distribute sprint and programme-level reports: burndown/burnup charts, velocity trends, cycle time, lead time,
and SLA compliance
- Produce executive-level summaries and stakeholder updates on an agreed cadence
- Maintain team-level KPIs and OKR tracking in Confluence or Jira
- Stakeholder & Cross-team Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Tooling team, internal customers, engineering squads, and leadership
- Manage inter-team dependencies and delivery risks
- Translate technical work and decisions into clear, business-readable communication

Strong written and verbal skills; comfortable presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
Nice to Have
- Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP – Project Administration or ACP – Business Analyst)
- Experience with Jira Advanced Roadmaps (Plans) for multi-team portfolio visibility
- Familiarity with ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira, or Tempo plugins
- Exposure to ITSM / ITIL frameworks in a JSM context
