Project Manager - River projects/Mumbai (Deployment & Operations)

Overview A global organization addressing environmental challenges is seeking a Project Manager to lead infrastructure deployment and expansion projects focused on river and waterway initiatives.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects from planning and execution through to operational handover. Acting as a key liaison between local teams and international headquarters, you will play a critical role in driving project success and supporting future growth initiatives.

Responsibilities Project Management & Scale-Up

- Manage multiple projects, including schedule, budget, risk, and resource management.
- Lead feasibility studies, site assessments, and deployment planning for new projects.
- Develop and execute medium- to long-term expansion strategies.
- Coordinate logistics, operational readiness, and implementation activities with local partners.
- Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop supplier strategies and manage vendor relationships.
- Drive procurement and RFP/RFQ processes.
- Support vendor selection, commercial negotiations, and contract execution.

Stakeholder Management
- Engage with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and public sector stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with implementation partners and support contract management activities.
- Interpret permitting and regulatory requirements and assess their project implications.
- Lead stakeholder meetings and project coordination discussions.
- Identify, evaluate,



and onboard new local partners and service providers.

Reporting & Communication
- Provide regular project updates to local and international stakeholders.
- Monitor KPIs, risks, and project performance, and prepare management reports.
- Share local insights, feedback, and operational updates with global teams.
- Contribute recommendations and improvement initiatives to support future growth.

Requirements Must Have

- 8+ years of project management experience.
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure, construction, civil engineering, equipment deployment, or utility-related projects from planning through implementation and handover.
- Strong experience in budget management, schedule management, and risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Business-level English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams.

Nice to Have
- Experience working with government agencies or public-sector organizations.
- Procurement and/or supply chain management experience.
- Experience in environmental, water treatment, waste management, or sustainability-related projects.
- Operations management experience.
- Experience working on projects in the Mumbai region and/or proficiency in Marathi or Hindi.
