: Production Supervisor

Job Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for supporting and supervising daily production activities to ensure products are manufactured according to approved production plans, quality standards, food safety requirements, and cost limitations. The role involves coordinating manpower, materials, machinery, production schedules, documentation, and reporting while maintaining productivity, quality, hygiene, and safety standards throughout the manufacturing process.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Coordination

· Execute daily production plans as instructed by the Production Manager/APM.

· Coordinate raw material and packing material requirements through Material Requisition Notes (MRN).

· Coordinate pouch printing activities as per production schedules.

· Monitor daily production output and ensure achievement of production targets.

· Communicate production schedules to concerned departments.

· Ensure production activities comply with approved procedures and work instructions.

Production Process Monitoring

· Monitor processing activities including mixing, fermentation, sheeting, cooking, freezing, packing, and storage.

· Ensure compliance with production parameters such as weight, size, count, temperature, yield, and packing standards.

· Monitor freezer loading and unloading activities.

· Ensure optimum utilization of machinery and manpower.

· Identify process deviations and report to management.

Quality & Food Safety Compliance

· Ensure production activities comply with quality and food safety requirements.

· Coordinate with the Quality Department to maintain product specifications.

· Monitor adherence to GMP, GHP, HACCP, FSSAI, and company standards.

· Take immediate action on quality-related issues identified during production.

· Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.





Machinery & Equipment Monitoring

· Ensure production equipment and machinery are available and operational.

· Monitor machine performance and downtime.

· Coordinate maintenance requirements with the Maintenance Department.

· Ensure proper usage and handling of equipment by operators.

· Report breakdowns and production interruptions promptly.

Manpower Management

· Supervise production operators and workers.

· Allocate manpower according to production requirements.

· Monitor attendance, discipline, and productivity of employees.

· Provide guidance and instructions to team members.

· Support employee training and skill development activities.

Safety, Hygiene & Housekeeping

· Ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements.

· Promote proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

· Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout production areas.

· Coordinate housekeeping activities within the plant.

· Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

· Report and follow up on safety concerns and incidents.

Inventory & Cost Control

· Monitor material consumption and production wastage.

· Ensure adherence to FIFO practices.

· Support inventory monitoring of raw materials and finished goods.

· Identify opportunities to reduce wastage and improve productivity.

· Inform management of cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements.

Documentation & Reporting

· Maintain daily production records and reports.

· Ensure timely ERP entries and production updates.

· Maintain production registers, logs, and records.

· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.





· Ensure all production documentation is accurate and audit-ready.

Communication & Coordination

· Coordinate with Quality, Stores, Maintenance, Cold Storage, and other departments.

· Communicate production issues and operational requirements to management.

· Support implementation of management decisions and improvement initiatives.

· Participate in production review meetings.

Continuous Improvement

· Identify opportunities for improving productivity and efficiency.

· Support implementation of process improvement projects.

· Recommend cost reduction and operational improvement initiatives.

· Assist management in achieving departmental objectives.

Qualifications & Skills

· Diploma / Degree in Food Technology, Production, Engineering, or related field.

· Experience in food manufacturing or frozen food processing preferred.

· Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FSSAI, and food safety requirements.

· Leadership and team management skills.

· Good communication and coordination abilities.

· Basic ERP and computer knowledge.

· Problem-solving and decision-making capability.
