Product Specialist, Genomics Automation Location: Kolkata (field role) Territory: West Bengal, Odisha and the Northeast Reports to: CSMO About Cambrian Bioworks We build automation for genomics labs. Our instruments include Manta for automated nucleic acid extraction, Orca for NGS library preparation, and Beluga for high-throughput extraction, backed by our own reagent kits and workflow software. We are ISO 13485, CE-IVD and CDSCO certified, and our systems run today at Apollo Hospitals Chennai, Jupiter Hospitals, Vijaya Diagnostics, MedGenome and Lifecell, where our kits have supported over 100,000 DNA extractions.

We are a product company, not a reseller. You will sell instruments we designed and built, which means you can actually answer the hard questions a customer asks.

What you will do Own the East India and Northeast territory for our genomics automation portfolio. Build and manage the pipeline across research institutes, medical colleges, agricultural and fisheries institutes, hospital genomics labs and private diagnostics chains. Run product demonstrations on customer sites.

You will be trained and certified on Manta within your first quarter and will independently run extraction demos, method transfers and application troubleshooting from that point on. Work customer workflows properly. Understand what a lab is doing today, whether that is metagenomics on marine or aquatic samples, plant tissue genomics, viral pathogen detection or clinical oncology NGS, and position the right combination of instrument and kit against it.

Manage channel partners and distributors in your region, and run joint field visits and roadshows with them. Track and report pipeline discipline through our CRM,



including honest deal staging and realistic close timelines. Support tender and institutional procurement processes across your territory.

Who we are looking for A postgraduate degree in biotechnology, molecular biology, life sciences, microbiology or a related field. Hands-on wet lab experience with nucleic acid extraction, PCR or NGS library preparation is essential, whether from academia, a core facility or industry. Two to five years in a commercial, application or field role in life science tools, diagnostics or research reagents.

We will also consider a robust candidate coming directly from a research or core facility background who genuinely wants to move into a customer-facing role, provided the scientific depth is there. Comfort with heavy travel. This territory covers multiple states and you should expect to be on the road roughly half of every month, including regular travel to the Northeast.

The ability to stand in front of a room of scientists and hold a technical conversation without falling back on a slide deck. Based in Kolkata, or willing to relocate. Useful, not required Prior experience selling or supporting automated liquid handling or extraction platforms.

Familiarity with Illumina or MGI sequencing workflows. Existing relationships with institutes in West Bengal, Odisha or the Northeast. Working knowledge of Bengali, Odia or Assamese.
