Role Description The Product Security Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for ensuring the security of products and platforms across their lifecycle. This role involves performing threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and security testing for applications, services, and embedded systems.

The engineer collaborates closely with development, DevOps, and architecture teams to design secure solutions, review code for security issues, and integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines.



Daily work includes monitoring security risks, analyzing security incidents related to products, and contributing to secure coding guidelines, standards, and documentation. The role also supports compliance with relevant security frameworks, conducts security awareness sessions for product teams, and continuously evaluates new tools and practices to strengthen product security posture.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in application and product security, including threat modeling, secure architecture design, and vulnerability assessment.
- Hands-on experience with secure coding practices, code reviews, and common weaknesses such as OWASP Top 10 and CWE.
- Proficiency with security testing tools (e.g., SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, fuzzing) and integration into CI/CD workflows.
- Knowledge of cloud and infrastructure security principles across major cloud platforms and containerized environments.
- Familiarity with industry security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2) and basic compliance requirements.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, communicate complex security topics clearly, and document findings and recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant security certifications (such as CEH, OSCP, CISSP, or CSSLP) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in product-based or embedded systems environments and secure SDLC implementation is highly beneficial.
