Job Summary

New Era Cleantech is developing a pathbreaking coal-to-chemicals project with a strong focus on decarbonization a billion industrial-scale greenfield development aimed at clean energy, carbon capture, and value-added chemical production. This project is aligned with India s national mission on energy security, low-carbon transition, and circular economy goals.

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Process Engineer to play a key role in the design, development, commissioning, and stabilization of complex chemical and gasification processes. This role is ideal for someone with strong foundations in chemical and process engineering, particularly in coal gasification, DRI (Direct Reduced Iron), and downstream chemical processes. You will work closely with vendors, licensors, EPC contractors, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle from engineering to commissioning and operations.

background in process engineering is essential

Key Responsibilities

- Support the design, evaluation, and optimization of coal gasification and downstream chemical process systems.

- Work closely with the Director of Technology on process engineering calculations, mass and energy balances, and PFD/P&ID; reviews.

- Interface with technology licensors, EPC contractors, consultants,



and vendors to ensure technical accuracy and design feasibility.

- Travel to the plant site during construction, erection, and commissioning phases for process supervision and coordination.

- Provide in office technical support during commissioning and play a leading role in process stabilization and optimization once operational.

- Evaluate decarbonization technologies and integrate them within the overall chemical process flow.

- Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and suggest process improvements as needed.

- Assist in maintaining detailed engineering documentation, commissioning protocols, and operating procedures.

Key Qualifications

- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Chemical Engineering from a reputed institution.

- Strong academic or professional experience in process engineering with a focus on coal gasification, DRI, syngas processing, or related chemical processes.

- Familiarity with chemical reactions, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and gas-solid/liquid operations.

- Experience in design review, simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS), and technical documentation.

- Willingness to travel frequently to the project site during construction and commissioning stages.

- Strong interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams, vendors, and external consultants.
