: Principal Platform Engineer – OpenShift
Experience 12+ years
Location : Hyderabad / Bangalore
Role Objective
As a Principal Platform Engineer – OpenShift, you will be responsible for engineering, validating, and optimizing enterprise OpenShift platforms beyond conventional operating conditions. Working within the platform engineering program, you will identify scalability boundaries, stress-test infrastructure, optimize performance, and establish engineering standards that enable the platform to support mission-critical banking workloads at exceptional scale.
Key Responsibilities
Design, engineer, and optimize enterprise-grade Red Hat OpenShift platforms.
Identify scalability limits through performance, stress, and endurance testing.
Analyze platform latency, throughput, scheduling efficiency, and cluster performance.
Optimize NUMA-aware workload placement for maximum performance.
Evaluate DPU/SmartNIC technologies and their integration with OpenShift networking and workloads.
Validate platform resilience through failure-domain testing, node failures, network disruptions, and disaster recovery scenarios.
Identify architectural exceptions and engineering limits beyond vendor reference architectures.
Develop platform tuning standards, scalability guidelines, and operational best practices.
Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, storage, security,
and application engineering teams.
Drive automation using Ansible, Terraform, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership for OpenShift platform architecture.
Required Skills
12+ years in Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Cloud Engineering.
5+ years of hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
Strong knowledge of container orchestration, Kubernetes internals, and OpenShift architecture.
Expertise in Linux, networking, storage, and enterprise infrastructure.
Experience with performance engineering, benchmarking, capacity planning, and scalability testing.
Deep understanding of NUMA architecture and workload optimization.
Knowledge of DPU/SmartNIC technologies.
Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and enterprise observability platforms.
Robust scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, Ansible, or Terraform.
Experience with highly available, mission-critical enterprise platforms.
