Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the assigned API manufacturing block to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production.

- Ensure smooth operation of the API manufacturing plant by managing production activities, coordinating with support functions, and maintaining uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

- Oversee daily shop floor activities to optimize productivity, equipment utilization, process efficiency, and workplace safety.

- Plan, organize, and monitor production schedules to achieve business targets while ensuring adherence to approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), SOPs, and process instructions.

- Monitor critical process parameters and ensure consistent product quality and manufacturing excellence.

- Carry out daily manpower planning, shift deployment, and resource allocation to ensure optimum utilization of personnel and timely completion of production schedules.

- Coordinate with Planning, Warehouse, Engineering, QA, QC, and EHS to ensure seamless manufacturing operations.

Compliance &

- Quality

- Ensure strict compliance with cGMP, data integrity, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards.

- Provide technical guidance on API manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with cGMP requirements and regulatory expectations.

- Maintain audit readiness for regulatory and customer inspections.

- Review production documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.

- Lead investigations for deviations, non-conformances, and implement effective CAPA and change control activities.

Process Improvement &

- Cost Optimization

- Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, cost reduction,



yield improvement, and operational excellence.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and productivity enhancement programs.

- Support process optimization, scale-up activities, technology transfer, and product development initiatives to improve manufacturing performance.

Equipment, Utilities &

- Inventory Management

- Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and minimum downtime.

- Coordinate with Utilities and Engineering departments to ensure uninterrupted availability of utilities required for manufacturing.

- Work closely with Warehouse and Supply Chain teams for effective inventory control, material availability, and production planning.

Safety, Health &

- Environment

- Ensure compliance with EHS policies, hazardous chemical handling procedures, and statutory safety requirements.

- Promote a solid safety culture by conducting risk assessments, safety observations, and incident investigations.

- Ensure proper waste management and environmental compliance.

People Management

- Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors, shift in-charges, and operators.

- Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and ensure competency development.

- Foster employee engagement, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Documentation &

- Reporting

- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.

- Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.

- Maintain complete manufacturing records and ensure timely documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
