The Senior Resident in Paediatrics is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. This role involves clinical duties, teaching junior staff, and participating in research and academic activities within the department.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Clinical Duties

- Diagnose and manage pediatric patients (OPD, IPD, NICU/PICU if applicable)
- Handle pediatric emergencies and critical care cases
- Conduct ward rounds and ensure proper patient documentation
- Assist/perform procedures like lumbar puncture, intubation, IV access, etc.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans

2. Patient Care & Communication

- Counsel parents/guardians regarding diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis
- Ensure ethical and compassionate patient care
- Maintain confidentiality and medical records

3. Academic Responsibilities

- Teach and supervise interns, junior residents, and nursing staff
- Participate in seminars, case presentations, journal clubs, and CMEs




- Stay updated with latest developments in pediatrics

4. Administrative Work

- Maintain medical records and discharge summaries
- Assist in departmental audits and quality improvement initiatives
- Follow hospital protocols and guidelines

5. Research Activities

- Participate in clinical research and publications
- Assist in data collection and analysis

Qualifications:

- MD/DNB in Paediatrics from a recognized institution
- Valid registration with National Medical Commission / State Medical Council

Experience:

- Fresh postgraduates or candidates with prior residency experience may apply
