Job Overview: The Estimator works directly with the structural designs to calculate the exact cost of producing a custom box. You are the critical link that translates a 3D design file into a hard financial number that the sales team can take to market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review structural BOMs to calculate exact substrate costs, machine running time, allocation.
- Estimate consumable usage, including ink coverage, foll stamping areas, and adhesives.
- Apply standard company margins and volume discounts to generate accurate, competitive price quotes.
- Continuously update costing templates based on fluctuating raw material prices in the market.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 3 to 7 years of specific experience in print or packaging estimation.
- Proficiency with estimation software and a strong understanding of manufacturing capabilities (e.g., die-cutters, folder-gluers, printing presses).
- Exceptional mathematical accuracy and attention to detail.
KPIs:
- Pricing accuracy (Zero errors in BOM cost translation)
- Quote generation speed (delivering standard quotes within 24-48 hours)
