An Okta Developer designs, implements, and maintains Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions using the Okta platform. They configure Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and user lifecycle management while integrating enterprise applications and troubleshooting authentication issues.

Key Responsibilities

- Application Integration: Onboard internal and external applications to the Okta platform using standard protocols like SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SCIM.
- Access Management: Configure and manage SSO, Adaptive MFA, and Universal Directory. Integrate Okta with Identity providers like Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory.
- Workflows & Automation: Develop custom identity workflows using Okta APIs, SDKs,



and scripting languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python) to automate user provisioning and lifecycle management.
- Policy Configuration: Design context-based security policies, such as conditional access and network zones.
- Support & Documentation: Troubleshoot complex authentication failures and maintain configuration, onboarding, and troubleshooting documentation.
