JD: The Network Architect Capacity Planning and Management is responsible for designing optimizing and managing network infrastructure to ensure scalability performance and efficiency This role focuses on forecasting network growth planning for future capacity requirements and ensuring that network resources align with business needs The architect collaborates with IT engineering and operations teams to design and implement network solutions that meet both current and future demands
Key Responsibilities
- Capacity Planning Forecasting
- Analyse network traffic patterns and usage trends to predict future capacity needs
- Develop long-term network capacity plans based on business growth projections
- Establish KPIs and monitoring frameworks to track network performance and utilization
- Ensure network infrastructure can scale to accommodate increased workloads
- Network Design Optimization
- Design high performance scalable and resilient network architectures
- Optimize network topology bandwidth and resource allocation to prevent bottlenecks
- Evaluate and implement software defined networking SDN and automation tools
- Ensure network designs align with industry best practices and compliance standards
- Performance Management Monitoring
- Implement proactive monitoring tools to detect and address network congestion
- Define thresholds for network capacity s and initiate corrective actions
- Conduct regular capacity assessments and performance tuning exercises
- Collaborate with operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve network issues
- Vendor Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work with ISPs cloud providers and hardware vendors to optimize network solutions
- Develop network capacity budgets and justify investments in infrastructure upgrades
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to IT teams on network expansion projects
- Security Compliance Considerations
- Ensure network capacity planning includes redundancy and disaster recovery strategies
- Incorporate security best practices into network architecture to mitigate risks
- Maintain compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001 NIST and GDPR
Required Skills Qualifications
- Education bachelors degree in computer science IT or a related field
- Experience 7 years in network architecture capacity planning or network engineering
Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of routing switching and network protocols BGP OSPF MPLS etc
- Experience with network monitoring tools
- Understanding of SDWAN network automation and virtualization technologies
- Certifications Preferred CCNP CCIE JNCIE AWS Advanced Networking or equivalent
- Soft Skills Strong analytical problem solving and communication skills
