MEP Design Manager Location: Vadodara, Gujarat, India
Experience: 8–12 years About the Company
Baselineworld is a company that values disciplined engineering, practical delivery, and high-quality execution. The team works on roles that need strong coordination between design, project stakeholders, and delivery functions to keep work moving with clarity and control. For this position, the company is looking for someone who can bring structure to complex MEP design work and help teams move from concept to coordinated deliverables. The environment suits a manager who is comfortable balancing technical depth with planning, communication, and accountability. The role is based in Vadodara and supports work that must stay aligned to project timelines, standards, and client expectations. The company is focused on hiring people who can improve quality, reduce rework, and keep multidisciplinary design outputs moving on time.
About the Role The MEP Design Manager will own the coordination and quality of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and utility design deliverables. The role requires close control over drawings, calculations, technical specifications, schedules, BOQs, and multidisciplinary coordination so projects move forward without avoidable rework. The manager will work across architects, structural engineers, BIM teams, consultants, clients, and execution teams to keep design outputs aligned with scope, standards, and delivery timelines. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can review technical work deeply, resolve issues early, and guide engineers and modelers toward coordinated outcomes. Success depends on turning design intent into clear, compliant, buildable deliverables that support industrial and commercial projects. Key Responsibilities
Lead coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and utility system design so all disciplines move in one direction and deliver coordinated outputs that reduce clashes, delays, and redesign effort.
Review and approve drawings, layouts, engineering calculations, and technical specifications so design decisions stay technically sound, compliant, and ready for client and project execution use.
Manage schedules, deliverable tracking, and resource allocation so engineering output remains on time, priorities stay clear, and the team can meet project commitments without bottlenecks.
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, BIM teams,
clients, consultants, and execution teams so technical interfaces are resolved early and design decisions translate cleanly into delivery.
Review BOQs, equipment schedules, load calculations, and engineering documentation so commercial and technical completeness are maintained before submission and procurement stages.
Conduct design reviews, resolve technical issues, and support value engineering so the team improves constructability, optimizes design quality, and reduces avoidable project cost or risk.
Oversee BIM coordination and clash detection so multidisciplinary models stay aligned, conflicts are identified early, and downstream rework is minimized across industrial and commercial projects.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, designers, and BIM modelers so the team builds capability, maintains quality standards, and delivers engineering work with greater consistency.
Essential
Skills & Technologies
Strong command of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical, and utility system design so technical reviews are accurate and design decisions are grounded in practical project requirements.
Experience reviewing engineering calculations, equipment sizing, BOQs, and technical specifications so deliverables are complete, defensible, and suitable for client approval and execution.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and related MEP design tools so drawings, models, and coordination outputs can be developed and reviewed efficiently.
Familiarity with BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination so the role can manage interfaces, detect clashes, and keep design intent aligned across teams.
Knowledge of applicable national and international design codes and standards so deliverables remain compliant and approval-ready across industrial and commercial environments.
Strong leadership, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills so the manager can guide teams, resolve issues, and keep delivery moving under pressure.
Additional
Plus
Experience in engineering consultancy,
design consultancy, or EPC design environments will be a strong advantage because it builds exposure to complex stakeholder coordination and deliverable control.
Prior involvement in industrial and commercial projects is preferred because these environments demand faster coordination, tighter compliance, and better interface management.
Experience mentoring multidisciplinary teams is an added advantage because the role benefits from leaders who can raise quality while keeping execution disciplined. What You'll Bring A track record of owning complex MEP design coordination from concept through delivery, with the judgment to balance technical quality, schedule pressure, and stakeholder expectations.
The ability to turn project requirements into coordinated engineering outputs that are compliant, buildable, and ready for client, consultant, and execution review.
Strong ownership of multidisciplinary interfaces, with the discipline to resolve issues early, prevent avoidable rework, and keep deliverables moving on time.
A leadership style that develops people, improves technical clarity, and raises the standard of design output across the team.
