- Coordinate and supervise the daily patient care operations of the assigned unit.
- Analyze workload and ensure adequate deployment of medical staff to meet patient care requirements.
- Delegate duties appropriately in accordance with legal, professional, and departmental guidelines.
- Maintain effective communication with the Medical Director, Sister Unit In-charge, and Block Assistant Nursing Superintendent (ANS) regarding operational requirements and incidents.
- Serve as a resource person for the unit and conduct periodic training for ward doctors.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with departmental protocols, policies, and clinical standards.
- Ensure adherence to NABH standards and hospital quality protocols.
- Participate in patient care activities whenever required.
- Coordinate effectively with Doctors, Sister In-charge, and Nurse Supervisors during shifts to ensure seamless patient care.
- Promptly inform the Medical Director / HOD (MS)about any untoward incidents or patient-related concerns in the wards.
- Actively participate in internal and external audits.
- Issue medical certificates as per hospital policy and designated schedules.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the reporting authority or hospital management.
Required Skills
- Basic hospital administration and managerial skills.
- Experience in doctor scheduling and manpower planning.
- Knowledge of day-to-day patient care monitoring and ward operations.
- Solid patient and family counselling skills.
- IT literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of NABH standards and quality compliance is preferred.
