About the Opportunity

This chance is for experienced Mechanical CAD Engineers with expertise in parametric CAD modeling, mechanical design, GD&T;, DFM, and technical documentation to contribute to advanced AI research and evaluation projects. You'll apply your engineering expertise to create, review, and optimize CAD models while helping improve the reasoning and performance of next-generation AI systems.

No prior AI experience is required. Your mechanical engineering and CAD expertise are the primary qualifications for success in this role. Professionals with experience in FreeCAD, CAD automation, assembly design, and engineering quality assurance are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate parametric CAD models using FreeCAD and similar CAD platforms.

• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies while ensuring proper component integration and design intent.

• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to improve manufacturability and product quality.

• Generate detailed engineering drawings, technical documentation, and manufacturing-ready design packages .

• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and technical drawings to identify and resolve design issues.

• Utilize Python scripting and CAD automation techniques to streamline modeling workflows and improve efficiency.

- Evaluate model accuracy, compliance, and design integrity against project specifications.
- Provide structured feedback and recommendations to support AI training,



evaluation, and technical reasoning.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design, or a related engineering discipline .

• At least 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, industrial engineering, or related fields focused on CAD modeling.

• Strong expertise in parametric CAD modeling and mechanical design workflows.

• Proficiency with FreeCAD or equivalent CAD software platforms.

• Hands-on experience with GD&T;, DFM, and engineering drawing creation .

- Experience reviewing and validating CAD models for quality, manufacturability, and compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in FreeCAD and complex assembly modeling.

• Experience with Python scripting for CAD automation and workflow optimization.

• Knowledge of engineering QA processes, model verification, and design validation .

- Experience creating manufacturing documentation and production-ready engineering drawings.
- Background in product development, mechanical systems design, or industrial engineering.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, engineering data annotation, or AI model evaluation.
- Experience collaborating with distributed engineering teams in remote environments.
