Position: Material Recycling Unit Head

Reporting To: Director – Operations / Management

Job Summary The Material Recycling Unit Head is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Material Recycling Unit, overseeing Steel, Plastic, and Paper Recycling operations. The role is accountable for driving operational excellence, productivity, quality, cost optimization, statutory compliance, and sustainable business growth while ensuring the achievement of organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the overall operations of the Material Recycling Unit.
- Develop and execute operational strategies to achieve production, quality, safety, and financial objectives.
- Ensure optimum utilization of plant capacity, manpower, machinery, and resources.
- Oversee production planning, inventory management, maintenance, quality assurance, and dispatch operations.
- Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor plant performance through key operational metrics and implement corrective actions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Manage operational budgets and implement cost optimization initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Maintenance, Quality, Finance, Logistics,



and Sales to ensure seamless plant operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams to foster a high-performance culture.
- Review operational performance through MIS and KPI reports and present recommendations to management.
- Support business expansion, process optimization, and strategic improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Competencies

Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Operations Management is preferred.

Experience

- 12–18 years of experience in manufacturing, recycling, metal processing, or industrial operations.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role managing plant or unit operations.
- Experience in Steel, Plastic, Paper Recycling, Scrap Processing, or Waste Management industries is preferred.
