Position: Mechanical Engineer – Plant Operations & Process Improvement Experience Required: 3 to 6 years Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Diploma with strong relevant experience may also be considered) Employment Type: Full-Time (8AM to 4PM, Mon-Sat)

Role Summary We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to manage daily plant operations smoothly, quickly identify problems and resolve them through proper root cause analysis, build and execute preventive/predictive maintenance plans, and drive production line improvement/redesign to boost efficiency and output. The ideal candidate should be hands-on, comfortable working on the shop floor, and proficient in the required design/simulation software.
Key Responsibilities 1.
Plant Daily Issue Management
Conduct daily rounds of the production floor to promptly identify breakdowns, bottlenecks, or abnormalities
Log shift-wise issues and resolve them based on priority
Coordinate with operators to minimize downtime
Report technical issues and propose solutions in daily/weekly production meetings 2.
Problem
Identification & Root Cause Analysis Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring machine/process failures
Design and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
Track failure trends to prevent recurrence of future issues 3.
Maintenance
Planning & Execution Develop Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance schedules for all critical machines/equipment
Plan spare parts inventory to ensure critical spares are always available
Supervise maintenance execution by coordinating with technicians/vendors
Track maintenance KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, breakdown hours, PM compliance %)
Maintain preventive maintenance documentation and checklists 4.
Process
Improvement & Production Line Design Analyze existing production lines to identify improvement opportunities (cycle time reduction, layout optimization, automation scope)
Design current/modified production line layouts using relevant CAD/simulation software
Conduct cost-benefit analysis for any proposed changes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Design) to implement improvements Required Skills & Software Proficiency CAD Software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA (strong hands-on experience in at least one)
Simulation/Analysis: Line balancing tools, layout simulation software (e.g., FlexSim, Plant Simulation) — added advantage
Maintenance Management: Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
MS Office: Advanced Excel (pivot tables, data analysis), PowerPoint for reporting
Knowledge of: GD&T;, root cause analysis tools, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) concepts Required Experience & Qualifications B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
3 to 6 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing/plant environment
Proven hands-on track record in maintenance planning and execution
Direct involvement in production line design or process improvement projects
Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills Preferred (Good to Have)
Six Sigma Green Belt / Lean certification
Experience with ISO 9001 / TPM implementation
Basic exposure to automation or robotics integration
