Manufacturing Engineer

Industrial Equipment Manufacturing

Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for researching, developing, and optimizing tooling, fixturing, and manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost effectiveness within an industrial equipment manufacturing environment. This role works closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, reduce waste, and enhance overall manufacturing efficiency.

The Manufacturing Engineer will support both existing production operations and new product introductions by applying principles of lean manufacturing, design for manufacturability (DFM), automation, and robotics. The position provides hands-on involvement with conventional fabrication equipment, and assembly operations to drive continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Research, develop, and optimize tooling, fixtures, and work holding solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, repeatability, and product quality.
- Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for cycle time reduction, waste elimination, and increased throughput.
- Collaborate with Product Design and Engineering teams to provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback that improves production efficiency and reduces manufacturing costs.
- Evaluate and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement principles.
- Support the development and deployment of automated manufacturing solutions, including collaborative and industrial robotic systems.
- Work with production personnel to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, standard operating procedures,

and engineering change documentation.
- Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and process validations to support operational goals.
- Assist in the design, testing, and validation of recent manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to quality and production concerns.
- Support capital equipment projects, including machine integration, automation, and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with company safety standards and applicable regulations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend improvements to productivity, quality, safety, and delivery performance.
