Manufacturing / Prototyping Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Manufacturing / Prototyping Engineer to support the development, fabrication, assembly, and testing of parachute recovery systems for UAVs, AUVs, and aerospace applications. The role involves converting design concepts into manufacturable prototypes, coordinating fabrication activities, supporting trial campaigns, and improving production processes within the Parachute Division.

Key Responsibilities

- Fabricate and assemble parachute system prototypes, deployment bags, harnesses, containers, and associated mechanisms.

- Interpret engineering drawings, GA drawings, BOMs, and 3D CAD models.

- Support rapid prototyping activities and design modifications during development.

- Develop manufacturing methods for parachute assemblies, harness stitching, line routing, and mechanical integration.

- Coordinate with vendors for fabric cutting, stitching, machining, composite parts, and hardware procurement.

- Prepare assembly work instructions and manufacturing process documents.





- Assist in ground tests, deployment tests, load tests, and field trials.

- Prepare test articles, instrumentation mounting, and pre-trial checklists.

- Record trial observations and support preparation of test reports and trial documentation.

- Maintain prototype build records, material traceability, and configuration control.

- Create and update SOPs, assembly procedures, inspection checklists, and manufacturing logs.

- Support inventory tracking of fabrics, tapes, rigging lines, harnesses, hardware, and consumables.

Requirements

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Aerospace, Production, or related field.

- Basic knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software.

- Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, workshop tools, and measuring instruments.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced development and testing setting.
