Position Title
Manager – Supply Chain (Procurement & CFA Distribution)
Only Mumbai based candidates
Position Summary The Manager – Supply Chain (Procurement & CFA Distribution) will be responsible for planning, procurement, inventory management, distribution operations, and management of Carrying & Forwarding Agents (CFAs) to ensure uninterrupted availability of finished goods across the distribution network. The role will focus on cost optimization, vendor management, statutory compliance, inventory control, logistics efficiency, and timely dispatch of pharmaceutical products while ensuring compliance with GMP, GDP, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
A. Procurement Management
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials, packaging materials, engineering items, consumables, and indirect purchases.
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and finalize vendors in coordination with Quality Assurance and User Departments.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of materials to support production schedules.
- Conduct price negotiations to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs such as:
- On-time delivery
- Quality acceptance rate
- Cost competitiveness
- Service responsiveness
- Develop alternate vendor sources to mitigate supply risks.
- Prepare annual procurement budgets and monitor procurement costs.
- Ensure timely preparation and processing of Purchase Orders (POs).
- Coordinate with Finance for vendor payments and reconciliation.
B. Inventory & Material Planning
- Monitor inventory levels of Raw Materials, Packaging Materials, Finished Goods, and Engineering Stores.
- Optimize inventory carrying costs while maintaining desired stock levels.
- Establish reorder levels, safety stock, and minimum-maximum inventory norms.
- Monitor inventory ageing and expiry risks.
- Coordinate with Production Planning for material requirements.
- Lead inventory reduction and working capital optimization initiatives.
C. CFA & Distribution Management
- Manage all Carrying & Forwarding Agents (CFAs) across India.
- Ensure timely receipt, storage, dispatch, and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
- Monitor CFA performance against agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Conduct periodic audits of CFA operations.
- Ensure proper FEFO/FIFO implementation.
- Monitor stock accuracy at CFA locations.
- Ensure timely replenishment of depot stocks.
- Coordinate with Sales & Marketing for dispatch priorities.
- Resolve logistics and distribution-related issues.
D. Logistics Management
- Plan transportation for finished goods across domestic markets.
- Optimize freight costs.
- Monitor transporter performance.
- Ensure timely dispatch against customer orders.
- Reduce transit damages and delivery delays.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams for loading schedules.
E. Vendor & Contract Management
- Develop strategic supplier relationships.
- Finalize annual rate contracts.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies.
- Maintain vendor database and documentation.
F. Cross Functional Coordination

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Science, Commerce, Engineering, or related discipline.
- MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, Materials Management, or Procurement will be preferred.
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, or Distribution within the Pharmaceutical industry.
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial role.
- Experience handling nationwide CFA operations.
- Exposure to SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or other ERP systems.
