IMI Critical Engineering The Group’s Critical Engineering Division specializes in the design and manufacture of engineer to order highly specialized flow control valves. Our mission is to create competitive advantage for our customers by employing our knowledge of applications and expertise, in critical areas such as the Power and Oil & Gas industries. Our products are at the heart of complex energy and production processes.
They control the flow of steam, gas and liquids in harsh environments – they are designed to withstand temperature and pressure extremes, as well as intensely abrasive or corrosive cyclical operations. Title : Manager – Hydraulics and C&I; Engineering
Experience 10-15 years in C&I; and Hydraulics
Location : Chennai / Sri City, Tada, Andhra Pradesh – India
Reporting : AGM – Pre Engineering & C&I;
Job Purpose
- Design Engineering - Engineering function End to End support
Key Accountabilities:
- Sales and pre-engineering support for sales during RFQ stage
- Design and manufacturing review with sales and operations.
- Project Engineering – Datasheet review, customer spec review and other technical review.
- Preparation / review of relevant Hydraulics and C&I; documents – Pre Order and Post Order
- Preparation / review of Bill of materials – in ERP.
- Prepare design (hand) calculations for the design development/ evaluation.
- Manufacturing and field service support during assembly / commissioning.
- Make creative changes in the existing product for improvements and easy manufacture.
- Responsible for on time delivery and quality outputs.
- Prepare the design documents and operation and maintenance manuals for the product.
- Attend meetings and conferences to develop knowledge and skills.
- Weekly reporting – project status and other Engineering and individual KPIs.
- Visit customer for resolving technical issues.
- Work with all IMI locations worldwide to understand the identified product, and its design and engineering requirements.
- Drive and support localisation drive of Hydraulic HPSU and C&I;
- Localisation of Engineering – ST to PV and OV Hydraulics Engineering
- Drive the initiative of new TWTG sensors on critical valve applications
- Standardisation of HPSU and Actuation – single solution for Indian Market
- Liaison with Brno and China Hydrauilics / C&I; for hastening the localisation process and cost optimisation.
- Develop local knowledge for calibration software like PASO and AV6 controllers
- Develop troubleshooting skills for Hydraulics / Controls / PVR and dissemination of knowledge
- Weekly reporting to Management – KPI and project progress
Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
- Degree in Control Instrumentation Mechanical Engineering / Applied Electronics Instrumentation from reputed colleges / universities. (In case of Mechanical Engineers ,additional knowledge / experience in Hydraulics related instrumentation is desirable)
- Conversant with hydraulic power packs , instrumentation and systems
- Preparation of specification of hydraulic power systems
- Preparation and review of P&ID; (instrument and routing) diagrams for hydraulic systems
- Sizing, selection, and preparation of specification of hydraulic power unit instruments hydraulic power unit, hydraulic actuators, and control elements.
- Basic flow and pressure drop calculations for hydraulic system
- Conversant with hazardous and non-hazardous area classification of instruments and its selection
- Preparation and review of general arrangement drawing of hydraulic power systems
- Experience in control valves, actuators, accessories, pneumatic circuits are added advantages.
- Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Must have experience in bill of materials and part number creation in ERP.
- Working knowledge on MS Office.
- Must have good writing skills to prepare design documents and manuals.
- Must be willing to travel anywhere globally.
- Hands on experience in calibration / field commissioning and troubleshooting
Familiar with ISO 9001 requirements.
Education qualification and Experience
- Degree in Control Instrumentation Engineering / Applied Electronics and Instrumentaion from good or reputed college.
- Minimum 4-8 years of design experience in hydraulic power packs and systems.
Communication Skills:
- Must possess good writing and communication skills - English.
