Role Profile: Maintenance & Housekeeping Supervisor

Core responsibilities:

I. Facility operations: Supervise maintenance of classrooms, laboratories, hostels, libraries, and hospital facilities (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, medical support systems).

II. Preventive maintenance: Develop and implement schedules to minimize breakdowns and extend equipment life.

III. Housekeeping management: Oversee cleaning staff to maintain hygiene in academic areas, hostels, cafeterias, and hospital wards.

IV. Infection control: Ensure cleaning protocols meet hospital and medical college infection prevention standards.

V. Emergency response: Coordinate urgent repairs and rapid cleaning interventions during spills, outbreaks, or system failures.

VI. Compliance & safety: Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, fire safety, and environmental standards.

VII. Budget & inventory: Manage budgets for maintenance and housekeeping supplies, track tools, consumables, and spare parts.

VIII. Stakeholder coordination: Act as a liaison between administration, faculty, hospital staff, and external contractors.

Daily duties:

1. Inspect classrooms, labs,



and hospital wards for cleanliness and safety.
2. Assign and monitor housekeeping tasks (floor cleaning, waste disposal, restroom sanitation).
3. Check functioning of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
4. Respond to urgent repair requests from faculty, students, or hospital staff.
5. Maintain records of completed tasks and pending issues.

Weekly duties:

1. Conduct preventive maintenance checks on critical systems.
2. Review housekeeping schedules and adjust staffing as needed.
3. Audit compliance with infection control and safety standards.
4. Hold team meetings to review performance and address challenges.
5. Submit weekly reports to administration on maintenance and housekeeping status.

Monthly duties:

1. Prepare budget utilization reports and forecast supply needs.
2. Conduct training sessions for staff on safety and hygiene protocols.
3. Coordinate deep cleaning of hostels, labs, and hospital wards.
4. Review vendor contracts for supplies and external services.
