THE ROLE:

looking for a specialized software engineer to join our Linux driver development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working on radesonsi radv development in user space Mesa. RadeonSi is an open source driver component part of mesa and the candidate will be responsible for upstreaming his work to open source community.

The candidate will be a member of the core team of incredibly talented and highly motivated industry specialists and will work with the very latest graphics and compute hardware and software technology.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD as well as with open source community. Successful candidates will utilize their knowledge of Linux driver development to become key contributors to the ongoing development of AMD GPU drivers for current and future hardware.

Ideal candidates are passionate about Linux and open source, are self-motivated, have exceptional problem-solving skills, will thrive in a quick-paced environment, and have a proven ability to collaborate within and across diverse teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Active participation in developing Linux device drivers and RadeonSi Mesa User mode drivers.
- Design and develop features for Graphics drivers in Mesa.
- Upstream the work, get it reviewed by the open-source community and merge in public driver repos.




- Participate in open-source community in review and responding to issues raised in the community.
- Active involvement into collaborative design and implementation of solutions based on open source and industry standards
- Investigation, triaging, analysis and resolution of issues as reported by customers and QA
- Debugging/fixing existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work
- Developing technical relationships with peers and partners

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

- Experience with C and C++ programming using Linux toolchains
- Exposure and experience to graphics APIs and 3D graphics concepts are desired.
- Experience in OpenGL & Vulkan is a big plus.
- Experience in contributing to open-source Mesa drivers is a big plus.
- Experience with source code control systems, with knowledge of git and gerrit being a strong plus.
- Ability to write high quality code and keep attention to details
- Experience with software development and life time processes
- Excellent analytical, debugging and trouble-shooting skills
- Effective organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Usage of AI tools for problem solving is expected.
- Initiative to integrate AI agents in development is desired.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

- Bachelor s or masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
